Emergency emergency ...
This Update provides a summary of events and our response as they unfolded after a truck caught fire at 5.23am in our underground operations last Tuesday 17 July. All personnel were accounted for and returned to the surface by 11.50am. An investigation into the cause of the fire and an examination of our response and procedures continues.

Waihi

Waihi township is situated near the east coast of the North Island, within ninety minutes’ drive of half the population of New Zealand, including the major cities of Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga and Rotorua.

Areas of natural beauty within the locality include the Karangahake Gorge, Waihi Beach and the coastline north and south.
